Summer Time (and the weather is fine)
Jun. 23rd, 2010 11:19 amEDIT: Please ignore the 10-11 option
It turns out I'm in Winchester that weekend. Oops.
Hello, fList!
Summer now seems to be well and truly upon us, so for the month of July, after having you all do lovely things for me, I'd like to organise some lovely things for you.
I plan to spend the weekends of 10-11, 17-18 and 24-25 of July doing any or all of the following and I'd love as many of you to join me as possible. You're all invited and so are your friends! I plan to sort out the weekend a week in advance, so people can make arrangements.
Picnic in the Park
Eynsham has some gorgeous green spaces and these make the perfect place for a Picnic. Bring yourselves, bring a friend, byob, we'll make some tasty sandwiches and go spend an afternoon relaxing in the park. Will work best with a large number of people on a nice day.
Games Day
Whether you want to play a board game (I have Risk, Monopoly, Blockus and Civilization: The Card Game and am welcome to any new games), video game (I have a Wii and wireless network), war game (Thanks to the fabulous
just_becky I've gained a lot of old skool 40k Space Marine miniatures that are just itching to get back to the war) or card game (£5 poker is always good fun as are just about any other card games you care to mention/teach/learn) then I'd love to have you round. Either a whole day (when it's raining or just too hot) or an evening (a night in with a round of poker is something I've only ever done once). Ideally a smaller number (no more than 6) on a far-too-hot or rainy day. Also an option for just about any time during the week too!
Milkshake Mix'n'Match
If someone is willing to bring a blender, I know an excellent way to make milkshakes of (just about) every flavour imaginable. All that we need is ice-cream, milk, and the flavour! Biscuits, slightly melted chocolate bars and cakes work supremely well. So do powdery sweets like Parma Violets. To be honest, everything's an option, even Doritos, except really gummy things like chewing gum as it can clog up the blender. Perfect for a small number on a warm day.
Oxford
Oxford is a cracking city with lots to do including museums, parks and tours, although sadly there won't be any
anarchist_nomad powered ones as he'll be on the wrong continent! I'd love to go round the museums, explore the parks and even go up the two towers if anyone fancies that. Great for any sized group and any weather.
And, in true LJ style, here is a poll so I can find out when my friends can come!
[Poll #1582637]
Any other details/preferences/ideas etc. let me know in the comments or via PM.
