Me and my dad are in the process of patching things up. He's sent me a very sincere apology and has acted more-or-less as the (very kind) comments suggested he would.

Thank you so for much for the supportive comments and offers of support, they mean a lot and are extended back, likewise.

Now to look very much forward to OpenCon tomorrow!

Well it's a little late, sure, but this weekend is worth documenting.

On Friday I went up to Derby for a number of reasons:
1) Come out to parents as poly
2) See my old am-dram group's (know as BSP) production of Sweeny Todd
3) Go to the Big Bi Fun Day

All in all, it was A++ all round.

And here's the detail )

Well last weekend went really well. My parent's were not only fine with it they seemed to be under the impression we told them already. Awesome!

ION: My flat is a natural 31 degrees. The heating has been off and it is now 10pm. I am thus far too warm to post anything more meaningful, or indeed do anything.

Out of curiosity...

[Poll #1565375]

It sounds like it's going to be a fun day and oh boy am I going to need it. Coming out to the 'rents just got a whole lot more awkward when I found out on Saturday that they've become regular church goers. I don't know whether this is linked to a "born-again" issue, a result of them finally having a church near enough it's not a hassle or mum's desperate loneliness finally getting to her (seriously, my mum has about 3 friends outside of work and family and those are ex-colleagues). Either way, having the religious aspect now so concrete has brought up all my own prejudices against closed-minded bigotry.

How they're going to take "The marriage is off because we don't believe in either Christianity or monogamy" is going to be very interesting to say the least...

Well, this is a bit annoying in a good way.

Whilst thinking about trying to ask someone if they'd like to meet up for a "maybe-date" I went into my calendar to find the next weekend I'm free. Turns out it's July. Mid-July if I'm planning to go to London and Derby Prides.

So, much like when shopping for shoes (when you're size 12 it's rare to get more than 3 options from an entire shop), it's now probably easier to ask "Who is free/Wants to join me" rather than trying to hunt out specific encounters with people.

So, this is what I have planned. Comment or contact if you'd like to join in *smiles*

Join us, won't you? Thank you. )

Talk about crazy, eh?

"In Rome until Monday due to volcano."

Does it make me a bad person if I completely forgot my parents were in Rome last week?
